Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Gina Kumar. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Dr. Regina Kumar is the medical director and co-founder of Contour Rejuvenation & Medical Spa. She received her medical degree in 2004 from the University of Vermont Medical School and completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine in 2007. Dr. Gina worked for over 15 years as an emergency medicine physician while also pursuing her passion in aesthetic medicine.

Brian Roberts is the co-founder and chief operating officer of Contour Medical Spa. He received his undergraduate degree in Dietetics from Oklahoma State University and in 2006 completing his BSN/RN from The University of Oklahoma. Specializing in Emergency and Acute Healthcare Clinical Operations and Regulatory Compliance.

Dr. Gina and Brian have been trained extensively by aesthetic surgeons and practitioners. They have a passion for youthful aging, skin texture and tone as well as regenerative medicine. They are proud to offer safe techniques that help clients achieve their desired results while contouring their unique beauty.

The inspiration for this husband-and-wife team is their five kids who inspire them to seek excellence in all that they do, as reflected in the high-quality care each client receives at Contour Med Spa.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to aesthetics has been great. There was not a lot of options for extensive training in the area so we had to travel to New York to receive hands-on and didactic training. We feel it is very important to master the anatomy of the face and know firsthand the complications and to treat the complications. It took approximately one year of training before we finally opened our aesthetic practice. The practice has been doing great, we are slowly building our client base however it does take time and patience. While we are building the business, we need to keep our other full-time jobs in order to continue to support our family of 7. Hopefully, it will continue to grow and we can focus solely on aesthetic medicine.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a husband-and-wife team whose background is Emergency Medicine. We both met at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas where we practiced emergency medicine. After years at a level 1 trauma center and starting our family, we decided to take different routes. Brian went into administration managing and directing several ERs around the metroplex, which he still does. I work 24-hour shifts as an ER physician at a standalone ER in Frisco, Texas. What sets us apart from other aesthetic practices is we are the only two providers at Contour. Rejuvenation and Medical Spa. The clients will see either an MD or an RN who have been extensively trained. We focus on each client and their personal needs and help develop a plan that will best suit their needs and desires. It is extremely important to us to develop a clientele based on trust. We know it is not easy to trust a provider with their face or body and we want them to trust us knowing that we take every procedure and ever client very seriously.

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
We are so passionate and believe in this industry so much, that we used our own savings to open the business. That is a huge risk for our family but sometimes we have to take risks for a long-term goal.
