Meet Eric Lovell of Frost Creek Beverage in Oak Cliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Lovell.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out 18 years ago in the beverage bottle filling as a temporary employee for a temp service. Through the years I had many mentors in the business that helped me along the way. After being in the beverage industry for so long touching everything from craft beer to natural drinks, I thought it was time to do something for myself that everyone could enjoy. So was born Frost Creek Beverage, a craft soda beverage company making pure cane sugar sodas. It has been a very rewarding venture to see people enjoying the beverages as an alternative to the High Fructose caffeinated kind of beverages out there and it helps that they taste great too.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When Frost Creek Beverage was founded the focus of the business was food service and party machine rentals. It was definitely an experience, but something was missing. Retail. It was just not as satisfying behind the counter. I wanted to offer people an alternative to main stream sodas. It has been a very stressful and expensive journey, but it has all paid off with the fan base and loyal customers.

Frost Creek Beverage L.P. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Frost Creek Beverage is filled by the passion to provide a local craft soda that is healthier than main stream sodas. That’s why joining Oak Cliff Beverage Works was so important to that focus. We keep that focus today while we balance partnerships, supply chain, and listen to our customers. We have partnered this year with Oak Cliff Beverage Works (Bryan Wilder) to offer craft soda programs for the restaurant in Bag in the box syrup, soda stream bottles for home use and retail. We recognized this opportunity with Bryan Wilder since he has been in the Beverage industry since the 80’s. We are the first team to come together and offer such a large flavor base to our customers in so many packages and markets.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment has been creating a products that my family and friends enjoy, but being able to offer that to the public and the feedback has been amazingly gratifying. Joining the Oak Cliff Beverage Works team is going to make it a great 2017 and future company.
